PUTRAJAYA: The national waterski team to the 28th SEA Games was given a treat of visiting the 2015 Royal Floria Putrajaya by the PPj President, Tan Sri Dato‘ Seri (Dr.) Aseh Bin Che Mat after the team was tasked by the PPj President to bring back the golds from Singapore.
The young waterski team led by team captain & veteran national skier Alex Yoong trains all year round in Putrajaya’s excellent facilities at the national training centre based at the Marina Putrajaya at prescient 5. Tan Sri Aseh told the team to do their best and the results will be evident for now and for the future as he joined the team and PPj officers for a photo session on the morning of Friday 5th June at his PPj office.
After the visit the team visited the 2015 Royal FLORIA Putrajaya Festival nearby and had a tea reception there.
The waterski team will depart for the 28th SEA Games from Marina Putrajaya at 8.30am on Tuesday 9th June with the competition to be held at Bedok Reservoir ski site in Singapore from the 11th to the 14th of June.
Eleven events are to be contended in waterski and the Malaysian team is aiming for a haul of 3 golds, 1 silver and 3 bronzes in their mission.
Putrajaya will be the host venue for the waterski events in the next SEA Games after Singapore when Kuala Lumpur hosts the 29th SEA Games in 2017.
