A wide variety of orchids, including rare orchids, awaits visitors at the FLORIA Lifestyle program at Anjung Floria, Precinct 4, Putrajaya in conjunction with the 58th Independence Day celebrations from 28 to 31 August 2015.
Among the orchids on display and for sale are Rhyncostylish lawreacea, a rare, scented wild orchid that resembles an insect and only blooms once a year. In addition, orchids such as Angreacum lamforde ‘Beauty’, Oncidium ‘Sharry Baby’, Aranda broga ‘Giant’, Vanda ‘Mimi Palmer’, and specially named orchids like Dendrobium Ghafar Baba and Dendrobium Dr. Siti Hasmah are expected to attract visitors, particularly the orchid enthusiast.
Although this month’s program is themed Orchids, there will also be an abundance of bonsai, topiary, fruit seedlings, terrarium, fertiliser, compost and gardening equipment on sale. In addition to the promise of fun in the sun with family and friends in a garden setting, FLORIA Lifestyle also offers a variety of gifts to visitors through quizzes and activities. Children will also get to know pets like rabbits, cats, hedgehogs and musang pandan in the Petting Zoo and also a photo opportunity with snakes.
Organised by Putrajaya Floria Sdn Bhd (PFSB), FLORIA Lifestyle is conceptualised as a Mini FLORIA program that will be celebrated with various sales of landscape and horticultural products, fresh fruits from FAMA, handicrafts, e-vendors and activities and other interesting programs throughout the ongoing program.
The public is invited to enjoy offerings at the FLORIA Lifestyle program for 4 days when it opens 28 to 31 August 2015 from 9:30 am - 9:30 pm (Friday - Monday). Admission is free.
